LaMelo Ball is starting over fresh this upcoming season. The Chino Hills hooper has been a star since he was a pre-teen, and in the league, he’s been the man in Charlotte, leading the Hornets in scoring and media headlines. Now, after one of the offseason’s most surprising trades, the youngest Ball brother is heading to Minnesota, and he’s arriving in the Land of Lakes with a new shoe.

LaMelo’s Latest is for The Island

The Puma MB.06 Puerto Rico is the first pair we’ve seen of LaMelo’s sixth signature shoe, arriving just in time for the summer heat and his new start in Minneapolis. Toning things back as ‘Melo gets a little older, the new silhouette features a streamlined silhouette that does away with the wings and lace covers on the MB.05, with bumper panels on either side of the toe and a triangular vamp leading to a wide, cushioned tongue.

On the Puerto Rico pair, the colorway starts with a light blue ocean base and adds wavy stripes of dark blue floating across the upper. The midsole adds an even darker shade of blue, with a bit of shine on the ‘Melo branding, and finally, a Puerto Rico flag on the tongue labels. In addition to the PR pair, the video of ‘Melo debuting the colorway and silhouette shows the Timberwolves’ star wearing a second pair of the MB.06 in grey.
