With LaMelo Ball sidelined due to an injury, his Charolette Hornets have been struggling. Even still, Ball and his signature sneaker line with Puma have been pushing forward. The MB series, currently on the MB.03, has captured the attention of basketball enthusiasts and sneaker collectors thanks to its cutting-edge designs, technology, and collaborations with brands. Following the successful release of its predecessors in low-top form, the MB.03 is getting a low-top makeover.
The upcoming Puma MB.03 Low Multi-Color distinguishes itself with a vibrant and eye-popping design. Unlike the standard model, this low-top version removes the slash effect on the upper in favor of textile overlays. These overlays come with a marbled mix of purple, red, and yellow, creating a visual impact that's hard to miss. Above this sits a red mesh base and matching laces, with yellow accents enhancing the TPU eyelet and sockliner.
LaMelo's branding is integrated onto the tongue, showcasing the phoenix and “1 of 1” logo. The heel features a co-branded touch, blending Puma's and Melo's logos seamlessly, and comes slightly redesigned compared to the standard MB.03. The sole unit remains faithful to the original design, this time coming in purple with red speckles and a tonal outsole, all encapsulating the state-of-the-art Nitro Foam cushioning.
The Puma MB.03 Low Multi-Color will release in 2024 through Puma and select retailers online and in-store. As of this writing, the retail price has yet to be announced, though previous low-top MBs have retailed for around $5 cheaper than the standard model, meaning the MB.03 Low should retail for $125.
