LaMelo Ball is having a solid third season in the NBA as the Charlotte Hornets star guard is nearly averaging 24 points as well as 6 rebounds and 8 assists per game. Even still, his team overall is having a lackluster year, currently 10-29 (as of this writing), and is sitting near the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Putting all of that to the side, Melo’s signature sneaker line with Puma has continued to draw attention to the German sportswear brand with the Puma MB.02 on a solid run of wearable and exotic colorways like the upcoming Rick & Morty collab. Now, the model has just appeared in a regal-like “Jade” colorway.
Taking on a monomesh upper mixed with fused TPU overlays and standard mesh on the tongue, a tonal shade of jade that Puma dubs “Lake Green” takes over the entire sneaker. Its iconic phoenix wing overlays and various TPU layers come in a marbled precious stone-like finish mixed with whites and greens while branding details atop the tongue and on the vamp get a regal gold makeover. Tonal green laces match the majority of the upper while we find more golden hits along the medial side’s phoenix wings. Underfoot sits a Nitro Foam cushioned sole unit in a similar marbled finish compared to the upper paired with a lake green rubber outsole.
The Puma MB.02 Jade is set to release overseas on January 12th, 2023 through Puma and select retailers online and in-store. A stateside drop will follow on February 3rd.
