Shocking the world in 2022, Puma introduced the world to LaMelo Ball’s first signature silhouette with the German sportswear company (Puma MB.01) to massive success. Colorway after colorway hit with consumers as its flashy in-your-face color palette paired with incredible on-court tech made almost every release sell out instantly. To drum up even more hype for the model, Puma and Melo partnered with the infamous animated TV series Rick & Morty for a mismatched pair of kicks and it seems the work between the three is not done yet. Like the first collab between the two, the sneaker comes in a mismatched color palette with the left sneaker taking on a gradient purple from the midfoot back and light neon green featured on the front half. As for the other pair, a truer neon green shade shifts into a deep pink as you work back while both come with a black TPU wings logo on the lateral side of the silhouette. On the medial side, the slightly tweaked wings logo comes in a similar shade to the front portion of each respective sneaker. Replacing the typical Melo branding details are graphics depicting characters from the show atop the tongue and “Rick & Morty” spelled out on the vamp. Underfoot, a tonal rubber midsole features NITRO foam cushioning and gets paired with a grippy rubber outsole matching the shades of each respective sole unit.
The Rick & Morty x Puma MB.02 is set to release on February 17th, 2023 through Puma and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
