Breaking Rivalries: Knicks Guard Tyler Kolek Debuts a Puma Hali 1 PE

The Knicks and Pacers have been bitter rivalries for decades now, highlighted by the Eastern Conference playoff run in 1994 that saw Reggie Miller take his anger off the court and onto MSG sideline staple Spike Lee. In the modern era, Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton has taken on the Knicks-hating mantel, returning to the same choking pantomime that made the rivalry famous 30 years ago in last year’s playoffs.

Haliburton has been out all season recovering from a devastating Achilles injury, though, and it looks like the rivalry might have gone a little soft. The latest colorway of Haliburton’s Puma Hali 1 signature sneaker is a PE in orange and blue Knicks colors made for New York reserve guard Tyler Kolek.

The Puma Hali 1 Knicks Tyler Kolek PE features a full foot of bright Knicks orange across the entire upper, adding hits of blue on the tongue logo, heel tab, and Big Cat logo on the lateral heel. A photo of Kolek’s mouth-covering three-point celebration is added to the insole for a personal touch and a strip of white ripples on the wavy midsole.

We’ve only seen a few photos of the pair courtesy of Jonathan LeRoux and Kolek himself, who walked into MSG in a Marty Supreme jacket carrying the pair. So far, it looks like this pair is a PE strictly for Kolek himself, but we’ll keep you posted if it ever gets a spot on the retail calendar.
