The running shoe market is stacked, literally and figuratively, with a packed house full of brands competing to add more foam to a rocker-shaped midsole for endless cushion and responsiveness. Not to be left out of the game, Puma has been in the middle of the pack with its nitrogen-infused Nitro running series, from high-level performance track shoes to everyday runners. Stepping into another gear for the new year, the Big Cat’s latest advancement in speed comes by way of the all-new Puma Deviate Nitro 4 and Deviate Nitro 4 Elite.
The Puma Deviate Nitro 4 collection will debut with two tiers of silhouette, both designed to push everyday runners to record speeds, with the Elite tailor-made for race day competition. Both shoes will debut in a green and yellow combo of Apple Spritz and Luxe Lime, with dual-layer, nitrogen-infused foam bringing a 38mm max stack height on the Deviate Nitro 4 and a 40mm stack on the Elite.

Both shoes feature a lightweight mesh upper, with even fewer ounces on the Elite pair. A redesigned PWRPLATE is built into the midsole for springy stability, though the Elite variant also adds carbon fiber. Underneath, a PUMAGRIP outsole is added for increased traction, no matter what surface you trek over on your daily runs.
The Puma Deviate Nitro 4 will debut in January in Apple Spritz and Luxe Lime, with the Puma Deviate Nitro 4 Elite in the same colorway following in February, along with more colorways of both silhouettes. Available through Puma and select retailers in-store and online, both shoes will be available in unisex sizing, with the retail prices set at $170 for the Deviate Nitro 4 and $250 for the Elite.
