adidas and Pharrell Williams’ Human Race line, while not seeing the same levels of hype it once had, continues to innovate and push new design ideas into the world. Off the back of the adidas NMD_S1, Pharrell created a hiking boot-like silhouette with its DNA, the Hu NMD S1 RYAT. While only one colorway has gone through a retail release, Pusha-T took the stage at Pharrell’s music festival Somethings In The Water to debut the upcoming Pharrell Williams x adidas Hu NMD S1 RYAT "Volt Orange."
Coming in the same construction as the "Core White" colorway, the NMD_S1 gets beefed up with premium suedes and leathers across its upper. Running around the model is a semi-translucent rubber TPU overlay in a light tan, complimenting the tonal suede overlays located on the eyestay and heels pull-tab. The toebox and tongue take on a contrasting grey with matching two-tone laces working up to the Human Race branded tongue. Along the midfoot and collar area, two plastic overlays with perforations come backed with yellow and orange details respectively. Underfoot, the chunky NMD_S1 midsole comes in a semi-translucent rubber, shaded with tan throughout and accented by yellow and orange TPU plugs. Rounding out the look is the black Trefoil traction pattern on the rubber outsole, encasing the full-length Boost cushioning system within.
The Pharrell Williams x adidas Hu NMD S1 RYAT Volt Orange is slated to release on September 2nd through adidas Confirmed and select Three Stripes retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $250.
