Though not at the levels of hype they once were, Pharrell and his Hu NMD silhouette, as well as general release adidas NMD’s continue to receive updates and new releases. Now the superstar producer, artist, and designer has been given the green light to remix one of adidas’ newest silhouettes through his creative lens, the NMD S1. The end result, the all-new adidas Hu NMD S1 Ryat.
Redesigning the upper with hiking boots as inspiration, the silhouette comes in high-top form with a mix of suede, mesh, leather, and TPU acting as the toecap and mudguard. This durable synthetic material running along the profile allows for outdoor use without worrying about damaging the mesh and suede underlay and overlay combo up above. Though the majority of the upper comes in cream/white hits, colorful pops of yellow and blue appear under the perforated overlays on the profile, acting as eyestays for the two-tone white and grey laces.
Near the collar, the lone hit of leather appears in cream with a green nylon pull-tab attached at the rear. Underfoot, the new silhouette borrows the same tooling as the adidas NMD S1 with its TPU plugs coming in the same colorful pops seen above. Round everything out is the full-length Boost cushioning underfoot encapsulated by the heavy traction Trefoil-laden rubber outsole.
The adidas Hu NMD S1 Ryat Core White is set to release on April 23rd, 2022 through adidas Confirmed and select adidas retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $250.
