British skateboard company Palace is switching teams. The London streetwear heavyweights, with one of the best teams in the skate industry, had been partnered with adidas for over a decade, releasing a series of skate shoe collabs, clothing capsules, and fantastic commercials over the years. But after persistent rumors about that partnership coming to a close and new footwear friends on the horizon, we now have official previews of an upcoming Palace x Nike collab, completely flipping the script on Palace’s sneaker history.

In a series of still shots from an upcoming ad campaign featuring English soccer stars Wayne Rooney and Reece James, the footballers can be seen wearing Palace x Nike Total 90 clothing with small Palace “P” logos intertwined with the Nike Total 90 soccer logo, Palace x Nike shorts and track pants, and a grey hooded sweatshirt with a classic Palace triferg logo on the breast with a volt-colored Nike Swoosh right in the middle.

On the sneaker side, Rooney can be seen wearing a pair of silver and volt Nike Total 90s that we can only assume are also part of the debut collection. For sneakerheads and skaters alike, Palace has been synonymous with adidas for years now, with many Palace team riders also skating for adidas, and prominent pros like Lucas Puig incorporating Palace Triferg imagery into his longstanding adidas Puig pro model. Seeing the Swoosh and Palace “P” together is still causing us to do a serious double-take.

There is no firm announcement for the Palace x Nike partnership, but with these leaks from behind the scenes of the debut commercial shoot, we’re guessing the official information will be released sooner rather than later.
