Palace, the skate-focused streetwear brand from the UK, is looking to continue its collaborative projects fresh off its latest partnership with high-end luxury fashion house Gucci. Now working with another high-end focused label, Yohji Yamamoto’s sublabel with adidas, Y-3, is teaming up with Palace on a capsule that includes apparel, sneakers, and accessories.
With Y-3 celebrating its 20th birthday, this year's releases have been themed around “20 Years: Recoded,” an exploration of archival pieces from the brand's past. Palace enters the picture by reinterpreting these pieces in a subversive fashion, keeping the core silhouettes (including hoodies, reversible jackets, tracksuits, shirts, and outdoor wear) intact while adding design motifs the streetwear label is famous for. Co-branded details cover a large portion of the silhouette while the color palette keeps things relatively simple through the continued use of neutral shades, though select pieces do provide colorful pops. Accessories in the capsule include body bags, beanies, hats, and even a football (soccer ball for those in the US), all of which feature similar co-branded details that can be found on the clothing.
When it comes to footwear, we’re getting a three-pack of adidas Y-3 Yuuto colorways, including a stealthy “Black,” vibrant “Green,” and a “Cream” option that utilizes red accents on the rose graphic atop the toebox.
The entire Palace x adidas Y-3 Capsule is set to release on November 11th, 2022 through adidas Confirmed and Palace online and in-store. As of this writing, pricing and sizing info for pieces in the collection are TBA. Keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest happenings in sneakers, streetwear, and more.
