The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Gundam Releases Holiday 2023

The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 has been a favorite among runners and sneakerheads, especially since The Swoosh revived the model. Even though the silhouette is heading back into the archives next year, we know that means Nike will be pumping out tons of colors for everyone until that happens. For its latest rendition, the Zoom Vomero 5 seemingly takes inspiration from the Japanese franchise “Gundam.”

The soon-to-be-launched Nike Zoom Vomero 5 "Gundam" pays homage through its captivating color palette reminiscent of the renowned Japanese franchise. Its upper sports a multi-material construction, combining elements of patent leather, TPU, mesh, and smooth leather. Dominating the color profile are shades of grey, silver, black, white, red, and blue. A vibrant red mesh establishes the foundational layer, highlighting the silver leather panels sprinkled across the toe, midfoot, and heel. The midfoot's red TPU cage starkly contrasts with the lustrous black patent leather Swoosh. The heel's TPU adopts a silvery hue juxtaposed with a black and white checkerboard tag. This striking detail also graces the Nike Vomero-branded tongue tag. Cream-colored laces complement the vamp, with the sockliner introducing one of two blue elements on the upper - the other being the Swoosh on the heel tab. Ensuring optimal comfort, the underfoot foam midsole, complete with Cushlon and Zoom Air cushioning, exudes a vintage appeal with its brushed white and grey finish. A black and blue rubber outsole caps off this design.

The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Gundam will release Holiday 2023 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
