One of the holiest of holy grails in the sneaker world is the patent leather PlayStation Nike Air Force 1 Low, made even more famous by a photo of Kobe Bryant holding the pair. We’ve seen a few pump fakes of purported retros of the colorways, all while Nike and Sony have teamed up multiple times to create other PlayStation Nike sneakers since that OG collab in 2006. This includes collabs on Paul George’s signature sneakers and an ultra-limited Travis Scott Nike Dunk Low, but did you know there was a special pair of Triple White Forces made to celebrate the PlayStation 3?
Nike Air Force 1 Low PlayStation 3 Details
Unseen until 20 years later, the Nike Air Force 1 Low PlayStation 3 was created the same year the console first hit shelves worldwide and around the same time as the legendary patent leather AF1 collab. This pair is much more toned down compared to the one Bryant co-signed, as the colorways keeps things classic by sticking to the traditional all-white AF1 you’ve seen for decades. White leather panels cover the entire upper, with white laces and a metallic silver lace dubrae on the vamp.
However, the lateral side of the upper comes with PlayStation 3 text lasered onto the leather, done in the iconic font that Sony borrowed from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy to use across the PS3's lifespan. Aside from this, the rest of the sneaker keeps its branding OG, including a Swoosh on the lateral and medial midfoot and Nike Air embroidered on the heel. Special packaging features more Nike and PS3 branding.
Will the Nike Air Force 1 Low PlayStation 3 Release?
Unfortunately, the PS3 Nike Air Force 1s were made 20 years ago and limited to just five pairs, so don’t expect a release at all. Sony is well into the lifecycle of the PS5, and the sixth console in the series isn’t too far behind, so maybe we’ll get some more promo pairs or even a public release of another PlayStation Nike collab in the future.
