Nike's legacy in cushioning technology has been marked by continuous innovation, with Lunar foam emerging as a significant advancement in the late 2000s to mid-2010s. This technology, known for its soft, responsive, and lightweight properties, became a hallmark across various categories, including running, basketball, and lifestyle footwear. Despite newer cushioning technologies coming to the forefront recently, Nike has decided to revisit this beloved tech with a modern twist in the Lunar Roam series. The series debuted in December 2023 and is now set to welcome a new member to its lineup: the Phantom Light Bone colorway.
Crafting a sophisticated and versatile design, the Nike Lunar Roam Phantom Light Bone inverts the color palette of the upcoming Dark Smoke Grey Black variant, showcasing a color scheme of cream and light tan hues that encapsulate the silhouette's elegance. The shoe's upper is constructed from cream, breathable textile material, complemented by seamless TPU overlays at the toe, midfoot, and heel for added structure and durability. Nike's innovative Magwire technology further bolsters the midfoot and heel, ensuring a secure fit without additional weight.
This clean iteration doesn't shy away from its refined aesthetic, with additional cream accents on the tongue, lace set, and brand logos, creating a cohesive and understated look. Underneath, the sneaker is elevated by a Lunarlon foam midsole, offering unparalleled comfort and a smooth ride in a matching tonal finish. A durable rubber outsole in the same light tone rounds off the design, providing reliable traction and completing the shoe's monochromatic appeal.
The Nike Lunar Roam Phantom Light Bone will release on April 16, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
