Nike's innovative journey in footwear cushioning technology took a significant leap in the late 2000s with the introduction of Lunar foam, a game-changer for its soft yet responsive characteristics. This technology entered a range of Nike's categories, from running and basketball to Nike SB. Fast forward to the present day, and Nike revisits this hallmark cushioning system to launch a new running silhouette - the Nike Lunar Roam.
Set to debut with a design that prioritizes lightweight performance and breathability, the Lunar Roam takes technology from the past and infuses it with a contemporary design. The upper features a meticulously engineered mesh, offering optimal airflow complemented by TPU reinforcements for enhanced durability. The midfoot and heel areas are fortified with Magwire, ensuring a secure and snug fit.
Aesthetically, the sneaker presents a serene combination of creamy and alabaster hues, accented by black details on the Swoosh and heel pull tab. This understated color palette emphasizes the shoe's sleek design. The highlight, of course, is the cushioned Lunar midsole, returning to its original glory. A tonal outsole matches the midsole's creamy color, completing the look with a harmonious blend of function and style.
The Nike Lunar Roam Alabaster will release on December 20th, 2023, through Nike, SNKRS, and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the sneaker is priced at $150.
