LeBron Broke Kareem’s All-Time Field Goal Record in a Nike LeBron 23 Made for the Occasion

Nike’s plan to release 23 pairs of the Nike LeBron 23 tied to the biggest moments in The King’s storied career has run into one big problem…LeBron has had way more than 23 highlight-worthy moments in his career. Luckily, there are always PEs. When LeBron broke Kareem Abdul Jabaar’s all-time field goal record on Thursday against Denver, he did it in a pair of shoes made for the celebration.

The Nike LeBron 23 Field Goal Record PE is a trophy for LeBron’s greatness in a glowing iridescent multi-color mix that mostly consists of deep purple, gold, and deep blue, but changes colors depending on the angle you look at it. Solid colors are added to the purple sockliner and the blue laces, and the thick blue stitching bisecting the upper.

LeBron surpassed Kareem in the first quarter of the Lakers’ loss to Denver last night, putting in his 15,838th career bucket. To commemorate the moment, Nike added a badge reading "15,838+" to the back of the LeBron 23 PE. Add the pair to the mantel next to the rest of LeBron’s broken records.
