The Nike LD-1000 Vintage Green Bicoastal Releases Holiday 2024
Published
Nike has dug into the archives to bring back a sneaker infamously recalled shortly after its debut in 1977: the Nike LD-1000. This once-performance sneaker meant for long-distance running was recalled due to its design causing injuries to runners. However, its design inspired multiple sneakers in the footwear industry and is poised for a comeback in 2024. Alongside the upcoming Stussy collaboration, which is coming in Action Green, Phantom Aquarius Blue, and three other colorways, Nike has also introduced inline variants like the Black Sesame and the newly revealed Vintage Green Bicoastal.
The Nike LD-1000 Vintage Green Bicoastal features a mesh and suede upper, blending vintage aesthetics with modern materials. The suede toe, eyestays, and heel overlay are all dressed in a vintage green hue, adding a classic touch to the sneaker. The bicoastal color scheme is prominently featured on the mesh base and the leather portions of the Swoosh, heel tab, and sockliner. White accents on the tongue and lace set contrast cleanly, while the foam sole unit also comes in white. The classic waffle traction pattern on the black rubber outsole completes the design, ensuring durability and grip.
The Nike LD-1000 Vintage Green Bicoastal will release in Holiday 2024 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $100.
