Kobe Bryant’s love for the WNBA was undeniable. A number of the W’s brightest stars honed their mindset under the tutelage of Bryant. Jewell Loyd, Sabrina Ionescu, Arike Ogunbowale, and one of his closest WNBA contemporaries, Diana Taurasi, proudly hold their connection to Kobe near and dear.

As the WNBA continues its 30th anniversary, Nike is celebrating the season and the All-Star Weekend with a handful of Kobe kicks, including the Nike Kobe 3 Protro WNBA All-Star and an accompanying Nike Kobe Dunk Low WNBA All-Star.

Nike Kobe Dunk Low WNBA All-Star details

The Nike Kobe Dunk Low WNBA All-Star continues the legacy of the Nike Kobe line, celebrates the WNBA’s 30th anniversary and All-Star game, and reinvigorates the ever-popular silhouette with new energy. Whereas the WNBA All-Star Kobe 3 went with a lighter color scheme of Sail and Hot Punch, the Nike Kobe Dunk Low WNBA All-Star throws some darker shades into the mix.

The silhouette features a semi-reflective black fabric base topped with dark grey tumbled leather overlays on the toe, lace, and heel panels. The same metallic details found on the heel counter of the Kobe 3 are brought to the Nike Kobe Dunk Low WNBA All-Star. The iridescent detailing gets added to the heel tab, Swoosh, and tongue tab bearing the Kobe sheath logo. Another connecting thread is the shade of Hot Punch on the sockliner.

The Kobe branding is more than just a namesake as the grey translucent outsole transforms the herringbone outsole to a snake shape to complete the look. And since this is a Protro, the shoe’s comfort is upgraded, with a drop-in ReactX insole bringing modern cushioning to the silhouette.
