It’s been 30 years since Kobe Bryant was taken with the 13th pick in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets and immediately traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. The rest is NBA history, and to celebrate what could have been, Nike is going all out on a Hornets theme for the anniversary, including a Kobe 9 Low Protro EM and a Kobe 4 Protro from the Draft Day Pack, plus a matching Dunk Low.

We’ve been waiting for the Nike Kobe Dunk Low Protro Charlotte to LA since we first got word of the upcoming colorway in September of last year. Now, after a run of follow-up previews, the colorway is slated to drop later this month, and we’ve finally got an official look at the pair.
Featuring classic Dunk Low color blocking, the toe, lace, and heel panels all feature radiant purple textured snakeskin fabric to channel the Mamba mentality. White leather fits in between on the toebox, side panels, and heel, with white mesh on the tongue and more white on the midsole. A splash of teal and yellow is added to the Swoosh and heel tab, with Kobe spelled out on the back.
