The WNBA just kicked off its 30th season on Friday, so the stars had to pull out their best kicks for Opening Day. Arike Ogunbowale, one of the stars of the surging Dallas Wings team, has been an elite stepper on and off the court. Alongside Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever, Ogunbogwale has been one of the leaders of the Kobe line in the WNBA. She forged a bond with Bryant following her championship-winning buzzer beater at Notre Dame that soon developed after she began her WNBA career.

Arike is no stranger to Kobe PEs, being one of the staunchest supporters of his line. Just last year, she pulled out a pink and silver Kobe 5 PE. To start this season, she took the Nike Kobe 6 Protro PE in a completely different direction with a more Texas Rattlesnake-style theme. The Nike Kobe 6 Protro Arike Ogunbowale PE goes all in on the snake look, taking the faux-snakeskin upper to the next level by flaking its sandy brown base with darker shades of brown throughout.

The black Swoosh is nearly hidden amongst the myriad of spots like a snake in hiding for its prey. A spot of tan strikes the heel while the TPU heel counter gets highlighted in a deep brown. Adding to the tonal brown colorway is a yellowish-tan shade that makes up the Cushlon midsole. Wrapping up the look like a constrictor is a brown outsole.

It is unknown at this time if Arike Ogunbowale’s Nike Kobe 6 PE will make it to retailers, but the colorway and theming would make for a fitting release. For the latest Nike Kobe release info and details, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
