The Nike Kobe 10 Protro Debuts with the Halo Colorway in August 2026

When Nike wanted to retro Kobe Bryant’s original signature sneaker, the Zoom Kobe 1, the Black Mamba was adamant it wasn’t a 1:1 return. Not because he didn’t want people to have his shoes, far from that. He wanted to ensure that the shoes retained the look of the original, but featured new tooling and tech so it could compete with contemporary sneakers on the market today. Thus, the “Protro” (performance retro) was born. Next up on the list of Protro Kobe sneakers is the Kobe 10, debuting in the crispy Halo colorway later this month.

Kobe 10 Protro Upgrades

While we knew that the Kobe 10 Protro was on the way, including this Halo pair, the 5AM Flight colorway, and the Blackout rendition, Nike has finally unveiled the performance upgrades for this Protro pair. The 2015-designed sneaker receives updates to all parts of the model, from the upper to the midsole and outsole. Starting up top, we see a redesigned engineered mesh that improves the breathability and flexibility of the Kobe 10 while maintaining lockdown. In addition to the engineered mesh version, Nike teased a Flyknit version, though we’ve yet to see how that looks.

A decade ago, the Lunarlon cushioning paired with an Air Zoom unit in the heel was elite, but today, that’s quite dated. Now, the model uses Cushlon 3.0 foam and a full-length Zoom Strobel unit for enhanced responsiveness, energy return, and better court feel. On the Flyknit version, Nike uses ZoomX foam. Below this, the outsole features a re-engineered traction pattern. Though these performance upgrades make the shoe better on the court, there are a few details Nike kept from the OG. This includes the carbon fiber forefoot wing and hidden “Endure and Conquer” messaging.

As for the Halo colorway, Nike continues the all-white tribute to Bryant that has helped introduce new Protro models starting with the Kobe 8 in 2023. This was followed by a Kobe 9 Halo Pack in 2024 on both the high and low-top versions of the shoe, and most recently, the Halo colorway kicked off the Protro of the Kobe 3 in 2025.

Nike Kobe 10 Protro Halo Release Info

The Nike Kobe 10 Protro Halo will be released August 23, 2026 via Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Retail is set at $190 for men’s sizing. Expect to see more Kobe 10s in the foreseeable future, including the Flyknit version with ZoomX foam in 2027 and beyond.
