Kevin Durant Pushes Cross-Sport Support with PSG KD 18 PE

Kevin Durant is a once-in-a-generation athlete. The Slim Reaper’s mix of height, athleticism, skill, and ball knowledge has made him one of the greatest to ever do it, no matter what jersey he has on. Like KD, the soccer stars on the French team, Paris Saint-Germain, are stratospheric stars, and no matter the sport, game recognizes game.

This past weekend, KD and the Rockets squared up against Wemby and the cross-Texas rival Spurs, and KD paid tribute to PSG with a new Nike KD 18 PSG PE. The black and blue KD 18 features red outlines across the side panel, KD’s number 7 through the Swoosh, and Paris Saint-Germain branding on the heel tag, and classic Eiffel Tower tongue logo.

Nike has been a sponsor of Paris Saint-Germain for years now, but more than a typical shoe sponsor, the Swoosh and Jordan have combined to turn up PSG’s marketing across the sporting landscape, making the team just as recognizable in the states for its sneaker collabs as its on-field play. Durant’s connection to the team runs deeper than that, as his Boardroom media company recently entered a partnership with the club, launching a collab capsule of clothing and a custom AF1 earlier in the year.

The Nike KD 18 PSG PE was made specifically for Durant, so it won’t likely be released to the public. That said, there are plenty of new KD 18 colorways dropping to round out the year, and Nike always has something new in the works with PSG, so it's only a matter of time before the team’s next collab drop.
