Slim Reefer: Kevin Durant Channels Stoner Vibes with Skunk Dunk KD 18 PE

The Nike KD 18 might have gone under the radar this year compared to new Nike basketball models like the Ja 3 and A’One, but around our office, KD is a heavy contender for SOTY - Stoner of the Year. After making it known years ago that he’s down with Mary Jane, Durant stepped onto the court against the Memphis Grizzlies this week in a new pair of Skunk Dunk colored KD 18s, bringing some high times to the Wednesday night win.

Keeping the same colorway as the 2010 4/20 celebration Nike SB Skunk Dunk designed by skate legend Todd Bratrud, the KD 18 Skunk PE mixes shades of hairy green suede, blending a darker tone on the toe with lighter green on the side panel, all surrounding rich purple mesh panels throughout. The purple hits continue on the KD tongue logo and outsole underfoot.

Durant, a perennial All-Star, former MVP, and NBA champion, has been outspoken about his cannabis use in the years since the NBA relaxed its anti-weed rules. In a 2022 interview with David Letterman, Durant told the talk show host that smoking weed allows him to clear out distractions and settle down, and noted that he was (just a little) high during the interview. Respect, Kev.
