Highlight reel after highlight reel has been produced thanks to Ja Morant’s insane performance on the NBA courts as of late with his latest viral clip arguably being the dunk of the year for the league. As one of his tweets states, “IT’S THE JA1s . IT’S THE SHOES,” which alludes to the famous tagline used to promote the Air Jordan line. For those looking to (possibly) recreate Ja’s actions on the court, you’re in luck as his Nike Ja 1 is set to release in the coming months in a slew of Ja 1 colorways. After getting the first looks at the “Day 1” colorway, we’ve detailed looks at the second launch colorway- the Nike Ja 1 “Trivia.”
Primarily dressed in a tannish-white shade dubbed “phantom,” the silhouette features a combination of leather, mesh, and rip-stop nylon to create an explosive performance basketball model with details nodding to Ja seen near the heel. This tonal phantom shade takes over the front half, toebox, mudguard, and eyestays included, while the tongue gets a split design featuring laser orange hits at the top and a black “JA” logo stamped in its center. More hits of phantom come on the lace set and the mesh along the quarter panel which revealed a purple base layer below. Accenting both of these colors, the Nike Swoosh comes in action green while the sockliner and bottom half of the heel take on a university blue color. On the top portion of the heel tab, a purple color dresses the leather while we see a series of questions about Ja written in a multicolor finish. This same question design makes it onto the insole which completes the upper. Rounding out the design is the Zoom Air-cushioned midsole which comes in white and a laser orange rubber outsole.
The Nike Ja 1 Trivia is set to release on May 4th, 2023 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
