Nike and Ja Morant have sculpted a noteworthy partnership, solidifying Morant as a prominent figure within Nike's basketball division, and his signature sneaker, the Nike Ja 1, has coursed through the sneaker market with impressive velocity. Most recently, Ja's bold "We Aint Ducking No Smoke" quote on the Ja 1 Smoke, which, though subsequently concealed in Nike’s official images, is doing little to dampen its market traction. Next up, a colorway once an exclusive player edition (PE) for Morant is set to light up the retail shelves, having previously been seen when Morant gifted them to a young fan before the silhouette’s release.
The upcoming Nike Ja 1 PE Autograph is a faithful rendition of the PE version, boasting an artful combination of materials including mesh, leather, ripstop, and TPU, enveloping the upper primarily in a vivid pink. This hue adorns the majority of the design, exempting the sockliner, Swoosh, heel, and tongue tag. A distinctive feature is the asymmetrical Ja Morant logo on the tongue tag, exhibiting green on the right and red on the left shoe. The heel, crafted from red ripstop, presents "12 AM" text and Morant's recognizable TMT signature throughout its fabric. The Swoosh captivates, beginning in a deep navy and gracefully transitioning to a bright yellow towards the heel. Finally, the sneaker rests on a blue foam midsole and a semi-translucent rubber outsole, which, unlike the PE version, doesn't feature quotes from Ja.
The Nike Ja 1 PE Autograph will release October 13, 2023 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
