It’s no secret that the GT Future found bits of inspiration from the Nike Foamposite line. The wavy molded shell is futuristic and alien, but also a little familiar. And as we reported back in August, the Future is set to get its own Galaxy colorway as a tribute to the Foam that paved the way. Now, with early colorways of the Future selling out instantly, we’ve got a look back at a never-before-seen sample from the recent past that might be the key to the Future’s future.

The Nike GT Future Galaxy Sample starts with a solid purple base across the thick, wavy paneling, with specks of white paint like planets in a distant galaxy covering the bottom half of the shoe, splattering in every direction. The tongue and laces are black, with Swooshes on the lateral heel and tongue in iridescent pink for more outer space energy.

The outsole, which is different from the retail production run of the Nike GT Future, suggests a sample from before the silhouette was finalized. It features an iridescent gradient that starts at the toe in icy blue and evolves past purple to icy pink at the heel.

This sample pair of the Nike GT Future certainly won’t hit retail shelves thanks to the pre-production tooling, but it's possible that this colorway is close to the final Galaxy Future expected to drop for Summer 2026.
