Well past the Summer 2016 smash hit Panda, the early 2020s were taken over by another “Panda” craze - the Nike Dunk Low. The simple black/white combo flooded our social media feeds and has become so commonplace in the footwear industry that Nike not only restocks the sneaker so regularly, but other silhouettes like the AJ 1 have taken on the black/white color scheme and makeup. To no one's surprise, The Swoosh is continuing to capitalize on both the Dunk craze and PANDAmonium as Complex has just revealed a brand new Dunk variant dubbed the Nike Dunk Low Twist.
Keeping the same DNA we all know and love from the Nike Dunk Low, this new Twist variant adds new design details like a rubber guard around the leather mudguard and heel, however, the standard placement of panels remains. Black overlays pop from the white leather base and also feature extra white trim around the eyestays, vamp, and heel overlay. Other standout details include the redesigned Swoosh logo that draws a comparison to Yoon Ahn’s work with Nike through her AMBUSH label as the logo is slightly morphed from its OG build. Underfoot, the same tried and true Dunk midsole remains with black accent stitching attaching it to the upper. Rounding out the design is the black rubber outsole below.
The Nike Dunk Low Twist Panda W is set to release July 27 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
