30 plus years on the air and The Simpsons still remain culturally relevant, creating buzz by bringing guests on such as Billie Eilish and The Weeknd in recent years. Nike is looking to the father on the longest running primetime television show, Homer Simpson, for inspiration on an upcoming grade school exclusive Nike Dunk Low.
As with the high-top Dunk bearing the same name, this Dunk Low borrows from Mr. Simpson’s iconic white shirt and blue jeans along with his yellow skin. Along the blue chill mudguard, eyelets, and heel overlays, while the white shirt of Homer is portrayed through the leather toebox and midfoot panel, as well as the mesh tongue and collar. Yellow makes its appearance on branding placed on the tongue, Swoosh, and Nike branded back heel tab. On the blue chill insole, a yellow Nike Swoosh pinwheel logo appears. Rounding out the entire look is the white midsole paired with a grey rubber outsole.
The Nike Dunk Low Homer Simpson GS is set to release in 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming exclusively in gradeschool sizing, the retail price is set at $85.
