The design team at Nike has had no issues pumping out Dunk Low and Dunk High colorways in the last few years. Not only have we seen iconic BTTYS-like colorways return in OG form but also in new remixed versions that feature different materials. Now joining the series of satin-covered Dunks that includes the UNLV and a Michigan-inspired White Team Green is the Nike Dunk High Black Varsity Maize.
Taking its inspiration from the classic BTTYS Iowa colorway, the two-tone colorblocking from this pack remains on this remixed Dunk High. Varsity maize overlays take over the mudguard, eyestays, and heel, with deep black hues landing on the toebox, quarter panel, and collar. These panels swap out the usual leather for satin while the tongue maintains its standard nylon finish in black. Tonal laces match the black portions of the model, with the Nike-branded tag above, joining in on the varsity maize color palette. Our only leather hit on the entire sneaker comes in the form of the varsity maize Swoosh along the midfoot and the pull tab on the heel's spine. Rounding out the design is a white Dunk midsole paired with a varsity maize rubber outsole.
The Nike Dunk High Satin Black Varsity Maize W is set to release on November 1, 2023 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Releasing in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
