While those who watched the Air movie know that Nike once struggled in the basketball segment of the footwear market, today, they are now the most significant presence in the sport and bring forth some of the most technologically advanced sneakers. Aside from signature models with athletes like Ja Morant or Kevin Durant, The Swoosh has one of the best sneakers to play ball in - the Nike Zoom GT Cut 2. Already seen in a handful of eye-catching colorways, a slew of TB colorways are coming our way in 2023, including “University Red.”
Across the upper sits an engineered mesh in red with semi-translucent TPU embedded into the knit pattern for added support and durability. The padded tongue with triangular cut-outs matches the red laces and surrounding TPU film, while branding details in white appear atop the tongue with the GT Cut logo, midfoot with its Nike Swoosh, and heel tab. Underfoot, the model features a white foam midsole with a semi-translucent icy blue portion, providing responsive cushioning and shock absorption. The outsole is made of a multi-color rubber that adds grip and durability to the shoe.
The Nike Air Zoom GT Cut 2 TB University Red is set to release through Nike and select retailers in Fall 2023 with a retail price of $170.
