Black Cracked Leather Appears On This Nike Air More Uptempo
Updated on •Published
Though not directly affiliated with Scottie Pippen, the Air More Uptempo will forever be associated with the Bull's small forward, continuing to be worn on the feet of casual consumers across the globe. While we’ve got news of the upcoming Slide redesign, there are still plenty of standard releases coming via The Swoosh, including the recently revealed Nike Air More Uptempo "Black Action Grape" that joins in on the cracked leather trend.
Typical features remain on this slightly altered colorway with black nubuck covering the base of the upper, accented by action grape hits throughout. Branding details found on the toebox and heel come in this aforementioned purple shade while the famous “AIR” leather overlay gets a cracked patent leather treatment, piped with purple around its edges. As for the rest of the silhouette, more black shades appear on the mesh tongue and rope lace set while bungee cord pull-tabs on the heel and atop the tongue borrow this same stealthy shade. One unique detail can be seen via the black insole with a white Nike logo coming cracked, mimicking the patent leather overlays. Rounding out the look is the Air More Uptempo midsole with an exposed Air Unit throughout paired with a two-tone black and purple rubber outsole.
The Nike Air More Uptempo Black Action Grape is set to release in August 2022 through Nike and select Nike Basketball retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $175. Keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app for updates on the latest happenings in sneakers, streetwear, and more.
