Often seen on the feet of Scottie Pippen, the Nike Air More Uptempo has become one of The Swoosh’s most iconic silhouettes thanks not only to the man who wore them, but due to the in-your-face “AIR” branding on the upper. Now almost 30 years since its release, the model is getting transformed from a basketball-ready sneaker to a pool-side-ready slide, launching in the classic "Black White" makeup.
Elements from your standard Air More Uptempo remain while removing the majority of the upper, creating a slide that utilizes nubuck on the forefoot strap. Alongside this aforementioned strap is the infamous “AIR” branding that gets piped in white, located near the embroidered Nike Swoosh. Aside from this, more Nike branding is debossed on the textured footbed. Underfoot the midsole and outsole keep Uptempo DNA with the Air Unit in the heel exposed, while the bottom features the circular designs and Nike Swoosh branding.
The Nike Air More Uptempo Slide Black White is set to release in Summer 2023 through Nike and select Nike retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $85.
