Nike has continued to show love to the Air Max lineup since the series began with the Air Max 1 back in 1987. A decade later, one of The Swoosh’s most recognizable sneakers was created in the Air Max 97. For its most recent colorway, the Air Max 97 is coming to us in “Picante Red Guava Ice.”
Fusing a combo of warm hues and neutral shades, the model’s streamlined upper is adorned with guava ice, picante red, and white. Wavy leather lines inspired by Japanese bullet trains trace the profile in guava ice. Contrasting this, the mudguard gets a vibrant picante red finish while the mesh portions of the upper come in white. Branding details, including the Swoosh and Air Max logos, seamlessly blend into the shoe's overall color palette and swap between the two titular shades. The look is rounded off with a full-length Air cushioned midsole and outsole in white.
The Nike Air Max 97 Picante Red Guava Ice will release July 22 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. The shoes will come in men's sizes and retail for $175.
