Nike’s Air Max line has a deep history with dozens of silhouettes on the roster. However, the Air Max 97 is arguably the most popular model from this revolutionary line. Over 25 years since its initial release, we still see the pair receive new makeovers, such as the recently seen “Independence Day” colorway; however, the latest rendition comes in an ultra-stealthy color palette of “Black Orange.”
Taking on a mixture of ripstop nylon, leather, and nubuck, the silhouette gets covered in shades of black, with orange accents taking over select upper details. These pops of color appear on the embroidered Swooshes along the midfoot and atop the tongue while the shade takes over the heel’s pull tab. As for the rest of the model, black nubuck runs along the bottom portion of the upper, while the top half comes in a slightly lighter shade of black on its leather and ripstop nylon materials. Tonal black laces match the tongue and sockliner, while everything comes complete with a black Air Max 97 midsole with orange in the full-length Air unit paired with a black/orange rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max 97 Black Orange will be released in 2023 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $185.
