Nike Air Max 2000 Retro heel

Nike has such a long history with the Air Max brand that it has a plethora of models that are fit for revival, as the archives run deep. After the revelation that Nike was tapping Supreme for a collaboration on the Nike Air Max 2000 later in 2026, it looks like Nike is gearing up for a wider release of the esoteric Alpha Project sneaker.

Alpha Project, Nike’s experimental line of products that birthed the Nike Air Kukini, Nike Air Presto, and so much more, leaned into futuristic lightweight designs that perfectly fit today’s design aesthetics. Soon, the fashion-forward model will see a return in a dark triple black colorway.

Nike Air Max 2000 Retro Details

Much like Kukini and Presto, the Nike Air Max 2000 features a black one-piece mesh upper. Neoprene on the collar adds a texture familiar to the Alpha Project family, while glossy horizontal support structures add texture to the low-profile look. Subtle branding appears in the form of the mini Swoosh on the lateral toe and tongue tag.

A recessed lacing system leans into the futurist ethos of Alpha Project. The black midsole bears the enigmatic Alpha Project branding of five dots before leading into the full-foot Air units. Completing the look is a heel counter branded with Max Air in an hourglass-like shape and reflective accents on the eyelets, tongue, and mini Swoosh.
