While Ken Griffey Jr. is mostly known for his time playing with the Seattle Mariners as well as the Cincinnati Reds, Nike Sportswear has paid homage to both teams countless times throughout “The Kid’s” signature footwear line. In more recent years, with retros coming and going, other teams, such as the Los Angeles Dodgers and now the San Francisco Giants are getting some love, via the Nike Air Griffey Max 1.
With an “LAX” edition already on the way, two more Cali-themed cities are getting represented on the Griffey Max 1 in 2022. The latest comes in the form of a coconut milk, black, and team orange colorway, dubbed the “San Francisco Giants” edition. These Griffey’s feature classic colorblocking, with black suede overlays and a coconut milk leather underlay. Orange accents are found throughout the sneaker, such as via the eyelets, branding, and visible Max Air cushioning. Finishing things off is the signature number “24” on the ankle strap as well as the midsole.
The Nike Air Griffey Max 1 San Francisco Giants is currently set to release on October 1st, 2022. It will drop at Nike, via the SNKRS app, as well as select retailers worldwide, both in-store and online. Coming in full-family sizing, retail is set at $170 for men. Keep it locked to our Twitter andMobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
