Nodding to the basketball shoe's roots.
From the Air Jordan 1 Mid to the Dunk High, Nike is no stranger when it comes to sneakers inspired by the Los Angeles Lakers, and its upcoming Nike Air Force 1 Low EMB "Lakers" is certainly no different. While new school sneakerheads see the AF1 as a lifestyle shoe, both you and I know that it was originally designed to dominate the hardcourt, and it looks like the American sportswear company will be going back to these roots for this upcoming colorway.
Featuring a full white leather construction that feels and looks pretty premium, one of the first things that you'll notice about this Air Force 1 are the lateral and medial panels which are intricately carved with a basketball-inspired pattern. Bold berry Swooshes shoot through the sides, and this is complemented by speed yellow accents which further cement the Lakers-esque color palette. Shifting your focus down below, the midsole is infused with Nike Air technology for unrivaled comfort on and off the court, and this is finished off with an italicized Air logo, finalizing the simple yet striking aesthetic.
Dropping alongside another Air Force 1 Low and an Air More Uptempo, the Nike Air Force 1 Low EMB Lakers is slated to release in Summer 2023 in men's sizes. Expected be available via Nike and select retailers both online and in physical locations for $130, you definitely don't want to miss out.
