Scottie Pippen's Air More Uptempo has been a sneaker staple since 1996. While it has gained a considerable amount of hype over the past few months thanks to the rise in popularity surrounding chunky silhouettes, at its core, the Uptempo is a basketball shoe, through and through. To pay tribute to this, the Oregon sportswear giant has unleashed the Nike Air More Uptempo "Hoops." Inspired by the retro model's hardcourt origins, here's everything that we know so far.

Arriving in a crisp white color scheme, the Air More Uptempo is crafted from a textured tumbled leather throughout. Elasticated pull tabs make their way to the tongue and back, while Swooshes can be found on the toebox and heel in a game royal hue. Of course, you can't talk about the "Hoops" without mentioning the oversized "AIR" branding across the lateral and medial side panels. A signature Uptempo feature, each letter boasts an intricately designed basketball-inspired pattern that's three dimensional for added depth. This all then sits atop an extra chunky Air midsole underfoot, finalizing the design.

Dropping as part of a much wider collection which also includes the Air Force 1, the Nike Air More Uptempo Hoops is expected to release in 2022 in men's sizes with a retail price of $170. Launching at Nike and select retailers worldwide online and in-store, for your best chance to cop, make sure you follow Sole Retriever on Twitter and download our officialMobile App if you haven't already.
