Nike is fresh off celebrating the 50th birthday of the iconic Bruce Kilgore-designed Air Force 1 in 2022 and is continuing this in 2023. On top of pairs honoring Hip-Hop turning 50 years old, a retail release of Fat Joe’s “Terror Squad” pair, and a possible Off-White x Nike AF1 Mid based on Rasheed Wallace's colorway, new renditions are set to bring new materials to the model. Adding denim and boucle fabric to the humble 80’s silhouette, Nike has crafted a women’s exclusive “Denim Boucle” Air Force 1 Low.
Maintaining the classic shape of the AF1, the silhouette still keeps key details like leather panels. However, new materials are added to the mix. Sandwiched between the creamy leathers near the toe and on the heel is a quarter panel woven in a boucle style featuring multi-color threads. Just above this sits a blue denim Swoosh that runs back to a heel tab with the same construction. Other added details include the woven tongue, an extended tongue tag with Just Do It branding, and this same saying embroidered along the end of the Swoosh in pink. Rounding out the design is the coconut milk-shaded AF1 midsole paired with a matching rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Denim Boucle W will be released in 2023 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Releasing in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
