You never know what you’re going to see when you show up in Boston. Ok, so you’ll probably see Fenway Park and eat some clam chowder, but after that, there’s no telling. For Satoshi Suzuki, founder of Japanese brand Loopwheeler, a recent trip to Beantown to visit New Balance HQ also came with a never-before-seen preview of a long-awaited silhouette.

In an Instagram dump from his trip, Suzuki posted photos of the classic Boston tourist haunts along with detailed looks at the New Balance office from his tour, including images with the brand’s president, Joe Preston, and New Balance owner, Jim Davis. In the photo with Davis, it looks like New Balance’s principal owner is rocking a new version of the iconic 990, perhaps ushering in the 990v7 after years of v6 drops.
One of, if not the most celebrated series in the New Balance catalog, the 990 is on its sixth iteration, with the v4 already making its way to retro drops.
