Coco and Aminé Get New Shoes
The New Balance 983 is the latest lifestyle silhouette from the New Balance catalog, and for its debut, the Boston squad is tapping two of its most famous celebrity faces: tennis superstar Coco Gauff and rapper Animé. After getting a look at the pair in a stack of blue samples, we’ve finally got a full look at the silhouette and all of its technical details. Featuring a two-tone bright synthetic blue upper with grey mesh beneath, the pair pops with dynamic shapes throughout and a sculpted midsole full of ABZORB cushion.
In the shoe’s debut campaign, Gauff shows how versatile the silhouette is, lining up Coco clones in a variety of outfits that all match the new blue shoes. "The idea for the campaign actually came from a vision meeting I had with the New Balance team. I thought it would be cool to showcase the different sides of my personality through style,” Coco said. “It was fun bringing the vision to life with Aminé and getting creative with styling the shoe in different ways. I love pieces that are fashion-forward but still easy to wear, and the 983 goes with any outfit."
