When New Balance unveiled the 9060 in 2022, it merged a Y2K-inspired aesthetic with the classic touch of the 99X series. Fast forward a year, and this silhouette has climbed the popularity charts, earning its place as one of the go-to picks for sneakerheads. Riding the wave of this newfound fame and hot on the heels of the upcoming DTLR-exclusive Fire Sign release, New Balance has more colorways, including two featuring a toggle lacing system.
Craftsmanship is at the heart of these two iterations of the 9060. Both sneakers boast a mixture of suede, nubuck, and mesh. The first colorway draws inspiration from nature, blending earthy tones of brown, black, grey, and a hint of green, reminiscent of the beef and broccoli palette. Meanwhile, the second is a more subdued affair, offering a mix of grey accented by delicate lilac hues. Multiple suede overlays gracefully envelop the mesh base, staying true to the 9060s original design. But what truly sets these pairs apart is the toggle lacing system – a functional addition that ensures both style and ease of use. Completing the design is a tri-colored chunky midsole resting atop a durable rubber outsole.
The New Balance 9060 Toggle Lace Pack has seen small releases across various retailers, though now that official imagery has appeared, expect a New Balance release on November 22, 22023. Available in men's sizes, the retail for both colorways is set at $150.
