There was a time when flowers, chocolate, and a card were considered really good Valentine’s Day gifts. If you liked the person a lot, add in dinner and a movie. Oh how times have changed. Now, that’s not to say any of the gift ideas previously mentioned aren't really good, but a sneaker themed for that day will last a lot longer and probably be more memorable. While this isn’t the first Valentine’s Day sneaker for New Balance, this will be the first 550 to receive the love day treatment. With the 550 becoming a staple in sneaker culture, giving these as a gift is probably a really great idea.
White is the primary color on this New Balance 550. Some bright pink hits on the toecap, embroidered 550, and side piping and complemented by "Space Pink," that can be seen on some of the branding on the tongue tag, portions of the outsole, suede back heel and one of the leather panels. Scarlet Red is seen on the outline of the side N logo, above the midsole near the heel, NB on the tongue tag, tip of the tongue, insole designs, a portion of the outsole and hearts.
