Though the team currently has no ties to New Balance through athletes or sponsorships, the Boston-based brand is looking to the Los Angeles Lakers iconic gold and purple colors to dress two colorways of their hottest silhouette in recent memory, the New Balance 550. Lacking any official endorsement with the team, the New Balance 550 “Lakers” Pack is here.
Both colorways in the pack come constructed out of a majority white leather throughout the upper, accented by purple and gold hits often associated with the LA Lakers. On one option, gold overtakes the New Balance N logo with a purple piping surrounding it, while the other colorway reverses this design. More purple hits can be found on the edge of the perforated leather overlay seen on both colorways.
Branding on the tongue and aforementioned perforated leather take on the purple and gold colors, inverting the main and accenting colors on each pair respectively. Back on the heel, the gold look utilizes white and grey on the collar while the purple colorway adds this color onto the mesh. Rounding out the look is a white midsole with a two-tone gold look on one pair and purple and grey makeup on the other.
The New Balance 550 Lakers Pack is set to release on October 5th, 2022 through New Balance and select NB retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
