Granite Takes Over This New Balance 550
Updated on •Published
Archival silhouettes have become New Balance’s bread and butter as models like the New Balance 550 have made triumphant returns. After its revival courtesy of Teddy Santis’ Aime Leon Dore, the 550 has become a staple model in NBs release calendar, with releases hitting the scene multiple times a month. For its latest rendition, the Boston-based footwear brand dresses the model in a clean “Granite” colorway.
Taking on the classic leather and mesh construction we’ve come to know and love from the NB 550, the entire sneaker is doused in a tonal grey dubbed “Granite.” This lands on the various leather panels around the toe, midfoot, and heel while accenting hits of quartz grey appear on the “N” logo and “550” text. Around the collar, another hit of quartz grey marks the leather overlay contrasting the granite mesh below. Tonal laces match most of the upper and the tongue tag above and round out the upper. Finishing the entire design is the quartz grey rubber midsole paired with a two-tone granite and quartz grey rubber outsole.
The New Balance 550 Granite will be released on April 6th, 2023, through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
