Topps Now LeBron James

LeBron James’ 24th NBA season is underway and Topps Now is commemorating the occasion with a trading card from his first regular season game as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers. The picture of James shows him performing his iconic chalk toss pre-game ritual in front of the fans at Madison Square Garden as the Sixers were taking on the Knicks during their ring night ceremony. James recorded 14 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and a heated conversation about geography with a fan courtside as the Sixers spoiled New York’s big night.

With all of the excitement surrounding James’ arrival in Philly, it was not surprising that Topps and their print on-demand Topps Now program had a card ready to go immediately after the game ended. While the regular card is open edition and Topps will print as many cards as there are orders, randomly inserted in these packages will be colored foil versions that are serial numbered. The parallels range from gold that is numbered to 50 copies all the way down to a one-of-a-kind Foilfractor variant. Topps also has additional parallels that use their popular Chrome and elusive Opal Chrome technologies if the print run exceeds a certain threshold like 50,000 copies all the way up to 500,000, but only a handful of cards ever achieve those numbers in any given year.

Besides the one-of-one Foilfractor, the other big card to chase is the one-of-one signed card that will also include a piece of the Nike shooting sleeve that James used during that game. James debuted a new signature that includes a sketch of a crown last season, and based on the mockup image Topps put together, it will continue as he begins his Sixers tenure. While Topps will be able to print the non-signed cards with relative quickness, a redemption card will be issued for the signed shooting sleeve relic card.

Where to Buy the LeBron James Topps Now card?

LeBron’s Sixers debut Topps Now card is available at the Topps Now website for $11.99 until October 23. Fans can also buy in bulk and save a few dollars on the 5-card, 10-card, and 20-card bundles. Each card purchased increases but does not guarantee a parallel will be included in your order. The cards will ship between 10-15 business days after the expiration, although previous experience dictates that the higher the print run there is a good likelihood of delays.
