With the gorpcore trend still maintaining a chokehold in the fashion world, labels like nanamica have found success with providing consumers with neutral designs that offer both form and function as their various collections feature weather-resistant and technical clothing that provides a high-end feel. Taking this mindset to the footwear industry, the label teamed up with Puma in the past for a collaborative two-pack of Puma Suede VTG Gore-Tex that featured monochromatic shades and now this same design motif is making its way to the Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star Gore-Tex in “Dark Navy.”
Taking on the canvas construction we all know and love from the Converse Chuck Taylor, nanamica brings its classic darker-toned shades (this time in a navy blue hue) across the upper of the silhouette. Gore-Tex materials help keep your feet free from water and other environmental hazards with the entire upper, tongue, laces, and Chuck Taylor star branding included, seen in the “Dark Navy” color. Further branding details can be found on the insole with a co-branded Converse and nanamica logos stamped atop the insert while the heel features a Gore-Tex tag on the spine and "All-Star" text on the sole. Speaking of the rubber sole, the design maintains its typical white finish with a black line contrasting along the sidewall while the rubber outsole below receives a gum makeover.
The nanamica x Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star Gore-Tex Hi Dark Navy is set to release on March 17th, 2023 through nanamica online and the label’s four brick-and-mortar locations in Japan. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
