There is perhaps no one in the custom footwear space as good at turning bootstrapped artistic sneaker endeavors into official collaborations as Metagirl. After parlaying an obsession with pearl-covered Saucony pairs into a legit drop, Metagirl is bringing her recent belt buckle work on Vans customs into a head-on collision with Vans’ recent jewelry store obsession.

Posted in a preview hard post on the Metagirl Instagram, the upcoming collab features at least two pairs of Old Skools, each with a giant belt buckle across the laces covered in stacks of shiny faux diamonds. The belt buckle is seen on a white-on-white pair of Old Skools, while the next slide shows the co-branded insole of a black pair.

The Metagirl x Vans Old Skool collection features a unique mix of materials, with scaly reptile print on the toe, belt, and lace panels, and then a horizontally-striped corduroy on the side panels and heel. More slides from the IG post show a custom box and a computerized look at a belt buckle ring, potentially an accessory for the pack.

The Metagirl x Vans Old Skool Collection doesn’t have a release date or retail price just yet, but the IG preview post noted that it would be “coming soon.” To find out more about the collab as soon as we get new info, download the Sole Retriever App.
