It’s no secret that Kobe Bryant loved soccer. The Black Mamba spent his early life in Italy, where soccer is a way of life, and if it weren’t for his otherworldly obsession with basketball, there might be an alternate timeline in which Bryant channeled his energy onto the crossbars instead of the court. Thankfully, Kobe’s legendary status on the basketball court has allowed for a sneaker line that channels all of his passions and dreams, including on the soccer pitch.
The Kobe Bryant x Nike Phantom 6 Elite Cleat Pack features two versions of the same colorway, one in a low-top and the other with an added high-top ankle collar. The performance soccer boots feature a black and grey engineered mesh toebox that spreads to the front half of the side panel. The back half of the cleats transitions to a cream color and adds scaly snakeskin texture to the mesh like a Kobe 6 Protro.
Kobe’s Sheath logo branding is added on the top of the boot on top of the lace cover, and on the heel, both in a metallic slime green. The side panel Swoosh is done in the same shiny green, with more Mamba branding and snake scale print added on the insoles. In addition to these upcoming Kobe Phantom 6 pairs, Nike is flipping the theme and bringing back the Kobe 8 Protro Mambacurial, a basketball shoe in one of Nike’s classic soccer cleat colorways.
The Kobe Bryant x Nike Phantom 6 Elite Cleat Pack doesn’t have a firm release date yet, but the pairs will be released soon through Nike and select retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizes on both pairs and grade school sizes on the low-top version, the retail prices are set at $305 for adult pairs at $80 for the GS sizes.
