Ronnie Fieg Teases Kith x adidas Running Through the Decades Collection

If there’s one thing Ronnie Fieg loves to do with his global streetwear brand Kith, it’s collaborations. Fieg has had his hand in some of the sneaker industry’s most beloved silhouettes, and hot off the heels of a Black Tie Superstar announcement with adidas, Kith is adding another collab with the Three Stripes to the lineup. Instead of sticking to lifestyle, the retail giant has prepped a six-pair collection paying homage to the past six decades of adidas running shoes.
Cross-posted to Fieg and Kith’s Instagram pages this week, the running pack consists of six separate adidas running shoes, one from each decade since the 1970s, all in the same white, silver, and cream colorway. Like the Black Tie Superstars, the running pack was made for Kith’s August 17 runway show, the brand’s first fashion show in six years.

As mentioned before, Kith takes one model from each of the last six decades, starting with the adidas SL 72, which was recently revived and subject to multiple collaborations. The New York, a 1983 street runner that’s come back a few times in the past decade clocks in for the 80s. For the 1990s, Fieg picked the Oregon Ultra Tech with its classic webbed sole.

Heading into the new millennium, Kith added its own rendition of the mid-2000’s track favorite Supernova Cushion 7. For the 20-teens, the EnergyBOOST adds a dose of the decade-defining Boost midsole. The pack is rounded out with the Adizero Adios Pro 4.

According to Fieg, the running pack will be sent to some Kith friends and family as an invite to the runway show, arriving to recipients in a specially-packed piece of Tumi luggage. In the Instagram post, you can see Fieg packing a suitcase with shoes wrapped in thick rubber bands labeled with the year each shoe first released.
We only have the Fieg and Kith Instagram post to go off for now, so we’re not sure on release dates or pricing for the adidas running collection. We should get a better look at the shoes at the Kith runway show on August 17.
