Ronnie Fieg Unveils Kith x adidas Superstar Black Tie Collection
Published
Way before Kith was ever conceived, Ronnie Fieg released his first collaboration with adidas (via David Z) in 2008, dubbed “Black Tie.” He chose the adidas Superstar because he “felt [it] could be dressed up or down” and wanted the freedom to wear the model with suits and formalwear. Seventeen years later, Fieg is revisiting the theme with a Black Tie 2.0 collection of Superstars.

Previewed throughout his recent Instagram post are primarily black builds of the Superstar, some with contrasting white hues on the Three Stripes and heel tab, while others are draped entirely in a stealthy shade of black. Not only are the pairs thoughtfully crafted in neutral hues that could be paired with formal suit and tie fits but they’re constructed with equally high quality materials.
All the pairs are made in Germany using dress shoe-quality leather, featuring waxed laces and leather insoles. One of the pairs even adds faux croc skin to the entire upper. The collection’s branding has been updated to include Kith & Kin logos on the tongue and insole. The pairs are tentatively scheduled to make their debut at the brand’s first runway show in six years on August 17.

The Kith empire has shown no signs of slowing down after continually raising the bar over the past 5 years. Their retail footprint has expanded to multiple new locations across the globe, and their collaborative portfolio continues to deepen, all while carefully blurring the line between streetwear and high fashion. You can see Feig tap into haute couture on recent link-ups with Giorgio Armani, but also note his subtle approach on the elevated finishes of the Clarks 8th St collection, as well as the Clarks x adidas sneakers with the crepe soles.
The Kith x adidas Superstar Black Tie Collection will release Fall/Winter 2025 through Kith online and in-store. As of this writing, the retail price has not been revealed but with the pairs being constructed in Germany with such elevated materials, expect to pay a premium.
